Growli ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Gardenpack inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Growli mobile application ("the App").

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. We designed Growli to work with minimal data collection — your garden data stays on your device.

Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only (not sent to us)

• Your plant collection and garden progress
• Care tasks and reminders you create
• Your onboarding preferences (experience level, growing environment)
• Chat history with the AI assistant

Data we may collect

• Coarse location — your approximate city or region, used to personalise planting dates and seasonal advice. We do not collect your precise GPS coordinates. This data is not linked to your identity.
• Usage analytics — anonymous interaction data (e.g. which screens you visit, features you use) to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide location-aware planting advice and seasonal tips
• To generate personalised care tasks for your plants
• To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI — to power the AI chat assistant. When you use the chat feature, your messages are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI does not use this data to train their models.
• Supabase — to store anonymous analytics events. No personally identifiable information is sent.
• Expo — for app updates and crash reporting.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share data with the service providers listed above, and only as necessary to provide the App's features.

Data Retention

Your garden data is stored locally on your device and persists until you delete the app or clear app data. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months.

Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a portable format

Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

Growli is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or on this page.
